A discreet day in terms of volume, but dense with underlying signals. Hardware robotics, non-human identity management, and surface transport distribution are concentrating most of the movement. No major French or European LBOs to report — deal-making flow over the past twenty-four hours remains thin on the continent. What has emerged deserves all the more attention.

Omio acquires Rail Europe and looks towards Asia

    Source: phocuswire.com → · Sector Mobility & Transportation — 📬 subscribe to the Mobility & Transportation newsletter

Omio is a surface transport distribution platform — train, bus, ferry — that aggregates inventory from hundreds of operators and sells tickets directly to travelers and travel professionals in seventy countries. Rail Europe is a rail distributor nearly a century old, with two-thirds of its revenue coming from B2B: travel agencies integrated into professional booking systems, with technical certifications and a relationship of trust built over decades.

The acquisition is now finalized. Omio's CFO, Jean-Bernard Moens, details the rationale in an interview published today: the platform had launched "Omio for Business" to address agencies, but building the brand and obtaining the necessary technical certifications would have taken years. Rail Europe brings both at once — and with them, inventory outside Europe that Omio can now inject into Rail Europe's existing B2B channels.

Strategic interpretation: this is not an inventory acquisition, it's a distribution channel acquisition. Rail Europe's B2C naturally merges into Omio; its B2B, however, opens up a business that the platform didn't have — and which represents two-thirds of the target. The real execution question is there: does Omio have the teams to manage an agency relationship on this scale, with its certification and system integration requirements?

Furthermore, Omio announces an expansion into Asia — Japan and Southeast Asia — supported by a $10 million investment from Granite-Integral. The move is consistent: once the European base is consolidated via Rail Europe, the platform is testing whether its multimodal distribution model transfers to high-traffic rail markets — before local competitors lock down the position.

Mount Logan doubles the size of its interval fund platform

Source: stocktitan.net → · Sector FinTech — 📬 subscribe to the FinTech newsletter

Mount Logan Capital (Nasdaq: MLCI) is a publicly traded credit asset manager. Its subsidiary, Mount Logan Management, notably manages an "evergreen" corporate credit fund — an interval fund with periodic liquidity that has no fixed closing date. It has signed an agreement to become the investment advisor to the AFA Asset Based Lending Fund, an asset-backed lending fund previously managed by Alternative Fund Advisors, from which it is acquiring the operational assets (data, intellectual property, goodwill related to the fund).

The target fund manages approximately $230 million. Added to the existing platform, assets under management in interval funds would increase to approximately $460 million at closing, expected in the first quarter of 2027, subject to unitholder and regulatory approvals. Mount Logan anticipates immediate accretion to its recurring operating income.

The operation is a platform doubling through the absorption of a comparable-sized competitor — a consolidation logic in a segment, periodic liquidity credit funds, where scale reduces fixed costs and improves negotiation capacity with institutional investors.

Enact Intelligence: thirty million to teach robots to feel what they touch

    Source: sesamers.com →

Enact Intelligence is seven months old, has twelve employees, no commercialized product — and has just raised $30 million in pre-seed funding. The Zurich-based company was founded in March 2026 by Manuel Yves Galliker, formerly of 1X and Physical Intelligence, two of the laboratories that have defined how generalist robotic models are trained today.

The problem it addresses is precise: current robots read their environment through vision. The camera works well at a distance; it becomes blind at the moment of contact — when the gripper grasps a soft package, a misaligned part, a fragile object. Enact integrates force detection directly into the actuator rather than into fingertip sensors. The claim: the robot feels what is happening in real-time, within the movement itself, without an additional layer of sensors.

The money will go to three things: multiplying the team by five by the end of 2027, accelerating hardware and research pipelines, and deploying the first robots with industrial partners in manufacturing, infrastructure, distribution, and agri-food.

The round was led by redalpine, with Notion Capital and firstminute capital. Angel investors include: Arthur Mensch (Mistral), Yann LeCun (AMI Labs), Andrew Lonsberry (Path Robotics).

A pre-seed of this size for a twelve-person team with no product is a clear signal: European hardware investors are starting to make conviction tickets comparable to those in software, on fundamental technological bets rather than on traction metrics. What this fundraising tells the market is that dexterity — a robot's ability to manipulate the physical world with precision — is now deemed close enough to justify a bet of this magnitude from day one. For a French industrialist automating packaging or assembly lines, this is the type of startup to follow closely over eighteen months.

Sunnies raises $315K to govern AI agents like employees

    Source: dealroom.co →

Sunnies is a Tokyo-based startup that publishes Privaco, a password and access management service. Born as a consumer privacy tool — passes, virtual email addresses, family features — it pivoted in 2025 to SMEs, then launched an offering dedicated to AI agents in 2026.

The new product is called "AI Workforce Control": it manages human employees and autonomous agents in a unified interface, sets permissions for each agent, requires human validation for sensitive actions, and maintains an audit log — who did what, human or machine. The announced price is $30.6 per user per month, with 2,000 agent requests included.

The fundraising is $384.6K (approximately $315K net after the previous pre-seed of $253.8K raised in November 2024), with HAKOBUNE and Hiroshima Venture Capital as investors. The funds will finance product development, sales, and partnerships.

The amount is modest, but the question Sunnies poses is real and growing: as AI agents move from text generation to executing actions on enterprise systems — sending emails, modifying files, calling APIs — the question of who authorizes them, who monitors them, and who is responsible for them becomes a concrete security problem. Sunnies bets that specialized credential management startups can capture this segment before large identity players absorb it. The Japanese market, being regulatory cautious, may be the right testing ground.
