OpenWorker: The open-source AI agent for office task automation
Andrew Ng announces OpenWorker, an open-source AI agent designed to go beyond simple chatbots and execute concrete tasks. This agent is capable of producing finished documents, sending Slack messages, or updating calendars, acting as a true "AI colleague."
OpenWorker's unique feature lies in its independence from AI models. Users can bring their own API key and choose to use proprietary models (GPT, Claude, Gemini) or open-source models (Kimi, GLM, DeepSeek, Inkling) via Ollama, thus ensuring data privacy as data remains on the user's machine, unless there is direct interaction with an LLM provider or a chosen integration. The project aims to offer an open, privacy-respecting, and model-agnostic option for work automation.
